September 11, Indian Chhau
The evening began with the dance film ‘Dances of Ecstasy’, followed by the Bombay Brothers, performing for 300 children. Sukant Kumar Archaya conducted a workshop and Manisha Bhargava performed two Chhau dances, respectively about the goddess Durga and Brahma. Sukant danced in Seraikella style, together they performed a martial art dance. Raj Moham and his six musicians playing Asian Underground and Hindi Pop.
September 12, Iranian Dervish and Egyptian Zikr
Maryam Linders conducted an inspired Iranian Dervish dance workshop, followed by a lively workshop on Egyptian Zikr by Sabri Saad el Hamus. In the evening Maryam Linders and Sebastiaan Holzhuber performed a Dervish dance, accompanied by four Iranian musicians. The evening ended with the Turkish band Otantik playing Turk Halk muzigi, Arabesk en Turkish pop music.
September 14, Argentinean Tango
Angolan dancer Rosa Maria gave a performance for women, followed by a workshop and a Turkish DJ-show. In the evening Ezequil and Sabrina conducted a tango workshop. Veronica Bellon gave a performance, followed by Jorge and Vanessa. Then Ezequil and Sabrina danced three impressive tangos and as an encore they performed together with Jorge and Vanessa. The Tango Dorado Orchestra played for an enthusiastic tango loving audience!
September 13, Irish tap & Zydeco
Nathalie d’Aragon and her partner conducted the Zydeco workshop, followed by an Irish tap dance workshop. In the evening both the Irish tap dance school The Hague and Nathalie d’Aragon and her partner gave performances. The Irish orchestra Bradley Bunch provided the music for the dance party!
