Black- Jazz & Breakdance 17 May 2001
This evening’ s danskaravaan opened with Freezone, conducting a cool workshop on headspin, windmill, backspin and six step. They went on to give a virtuoso break dance performance. Next, Footwork’s black jazz dancers improvised on groovy jazz rhythm and presented hip-hop dances. Finally, both jazz and break-dancers came to the stage and gave a joint performance. After the show, MMAF’s reggae music was great to dance to all night long.



Moroccan
dance 20 May 2001
Moroccan women danced with Radia Elhachioui in the afternoon. In the evening Laudie Vrancken conducted an oriental dance workshop and her group Guahara gave a performance of the regadda, sous, sloeh and gnaoua. Rosa Maria, an Angolan dancer, and Radia Elhachioui danced together, showing the similarities in Moroccan and Angolan dance traditions. The audience was completely carried away by the exciting sound of El Amal and danced to the cha’abi and the jabali.
