8th edition of the Danskaravaan in The Hague

Thursday 2nd till Sunday 5th of June 2005
Location: Spiegeltent on the Spuiplein in The Hague.
From the 2 – 5 June, 2005, the Danskaravaan’s well renowned Spiegeltent will be once again located in The Hague. The Danskaravaan will be situated on the Spuiplein at the heart of the town’s splendid center. There will be dance workshops and performances daily, with the end of each day in the Danskaravaan marked in celebratory fashion by a dance party with live music and a DJ.

Thursday 2nd of June, Indo Hip Hop.
A Scrip tonic and Hip hop collective formed around MC/producer Djaga, MC Dan Stezo and DJ Rockid. They will perform an Indian Hip hop and break dance show.

Friday 3rd of June, Indo night.
Authentic Indo dance evening with jive and rock and roll and the legendary Crazy Rockers.

Saturday 4th of June, Indonesian night.
Javanese dance specially performed by the Javanese companies Eka Santi Dewi en Aafke de Jong. This will be followed by a spectacular Balinese dance by Arnaud Kokosky Deforchaux, performing together with Baris Tunggal. The whole evening will be capped off with the dance music of Klaus Kuiper’s Sana Budaya Gamelan Ensemble, playing crossover with the Dutch group Nazaten van Prins Hendrik.

Sunday 5th of June, Hymne à l’Amour.
On this evening several dances, including the sensual dance ‘Le Java’, will be performed from the thirties’ originating ‘Bal Nègre’. Moreover you will be able to witness the love duets of choreographers Karine Guizzo and Conny Jansen. An orchestra playing French chansons and bal musette will provide the music for the dance party.

The workshops begin at 7 p.m. and all performances start at 8 p.m., followed by the dance parties at 9 p.m. each evening.
